David Marshack
Chief Capability Officer
David is a satellite communications and spectrum strategist with more than 30 years of experience across telecommunications, wireless spectrum, space-based networks, and defense. He worked on direct-to-device connectivity before it had a name. As Chief Capability Officer, David brings AST SpaceMobile's commercial and defense capabilities together across the space, ground, and terminal ecosystems, so that progress in one domain advances the other. He leads work that turns complex spectrum, regulatory, and system-architecture challenges into deployable, interoperable capabilities for global mobile markets and national security missions.
Before joining AST SpaceMobile, David was Managing Director and COO of RKF Engineering Solutions, which Auria Space acquired in 2025. There he led technical and regulatory programs for commercial, defense, and government clients. He directed engineering and policy support in major FCC proceedings, including C-band, 6 GHz, and NGSO constellations. He has advised AST since 2020 and in 2021 he presented the first independent technical diligence on AST SpaceMobile at its analyst day.
David has been a U.S. delegate to the ITU since 2007 and is an inventor on 21 granted U.S. patents, covering satellite beamforming, interference management, and hybrid satellite-terrestrial networks. He serves on the SSPI Board of Directors and the advisory board to the United Nations World Food Programme.
