John Slamecka

Executive Advisor to the Chairman

John is a global thought leader in the communications industry with 30+ years of experience across multiple continents and executive roles in network, sales, marketing, advertising, product, asset protection, and finance. As Executive Advisor to the Chairman, John supports Abel Avellan and AST SpaceMobile in the establishment and growth of strategic relationships with the most senior leadership in the telco and technology environments.

Prior to joining AST SpaceMobile, John spent over 22 years in senior leadership roles at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He most recently served as President of AT&T Business International, leading the transformation of AT&T’s international enterprise business, and previously managed the company’s global wholesale and access organization, delivering voice, data, and access services to more than 500 carriers worldwide.

John also brings extensive international experience spanning Europe and Latin America, including leading Lucent Technologies’ enterprise operations in Central and Eastern Europe, supporting AT&T/Lucent EMEA’s transition to an indirect channel model, and serving as COO for Lucent’s Latin American enterprise networking business. He also held Managing Director roles for AT&T in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Italy, and has served on the boards of March Networks Corporation and Avanti Communications Plc. He currently advises Hatch Digital and is a member and benefactor of the International Council of the Royal Ballet & Opera in London.
